News for Tora-Con 2009:

Tora-Con 2009 announces final guests and end of pre-registration

ROCHESTER, NY - March 31, 2009 - RIT Anime Club is very pleased to announce the final two guests for this year's Tora-Con 2009: musical guest Armcannon and returning guest Geek Comedy Tour!

Armcannon is a band from Buffalo, NY that got together four years ago to breathe new life into the nostalgic melodies of 80s and 90s Nintendo music, as well as recognizable TV and movie themes such as those from Unsolved Mysterious and Ghostbusters. Their mission is to reawaken 80s nostalgia in a way that is also tasteful to the ears of those not familiar with the material. They are largely instrumental, so as to fully augment the notoriously underrated complexity of Nintendo's well written, nuanced melodies.

Returning to Tora-Con this year is the funniest stand-up comedians from the Washington DC area, Geek Comedy Tour! Each member is an experienced comic, having performed at bars, clubs, and colleges all over the East Coast. Tired of hiding their true dork selves and joking about what they loved the most: comic books, anime, and video games, to normal comedy club crowds who did not appreciate the humor, they decided to let their freak flag fly, form together, and bring their geek jokes to the horde that needs them most. Since their formation two years ago, the Geek Comedy Tour has performed at a variety of venues from anime conventions, college shows, and even the grand opening of a comic shop!

RIT Anime Club would also like to note that pre-registration for Tora-Con 2009 has ended as of March 25th, and they will not be taking any mailed-in pre-registrations postmarked after this date. Also, due to overwhelming demand, Tora-Con 2009 will have to cap the number of attendees at 1450. Anyone who arrives after the cap is reached will be turned away.
