News for Animaritime 2007:
Animaritime moves to larger venue
Sackville, NB., Sept. 15 -- Animaritime is busting at the seams. Animaritime, Atlantic Canada's only anime and gaming convention has announced that the 2007 convention is coming to Dieppe, NB. The change in venue is prompted by the convention's rapidly increasing attendance. Nicole Shannon, one of the co-chairs of the convention, estimates an attendance of 350 people, a 55% increase over the previous year, based on the convention's current growth trend. The event will be held on the dates of February 23-25 2007 at the Ramada Plaza, located in Crystal Palace in Dieppe, near Moncton NB.
"The move will help us accommodate our ever-growing attendance, and give our attendees a place to stay," said venue coordinator William Belanger. "Our guests and attendees were having a hard time finding places to sleep at night, sometimes they even commuted for the weekend. By holding the event in Dieppe this year, it will be a lot easier for our attendees to handle travel and accommodations."
Animaritime is the Maritimes' only anime and gaming convention. Animaritime 2007 will be the fourth annual event, and is expected to be the biggest yet. With the announcement of the move to Moncton, the convention's organizers expect a much larger increase in attendance than seen in previous years. Some of the events planned for Animaritime 2007 are: guest panels, video showings, gaming rooms, RPGs, TCGs, lectures, demos, workshops, dealers room and artist's alley.
