News for Castle Point Anime Convention 2010:

CPAC announces attendance cap and registration extension

HOBOKEN, NEW JERSEY – April 5, 2010. Due to the exponential increase in pre-registered guests this year, Castle Point Anime Convention has decided to limit the total number of guests to 2000 people to avoid overcrowding at the convention.

As a result, it has also extended its online pre-registration period past the normal deadline to midnight of Wednesday, April 7. Pre-registration spots are quickly filling up, and CPAC staff members have limited the total number pre-registration tickets to 1500 people. CPAC will still be selling tickets at the door the day of the convention, but spots will be limited and no individual or group discount tickets will be available.

CPAC staff members advise that anyone who has not yet registered for CPAC to do so as soon as possible. As always, pre-registration tickets are $10 for individuals with a group discount of $40 for 5 people. If you are unable to pre-register, please show up early to the convention to secure your spot. At-door registration opens at 9:00 AM on Sunday, April 11. The cost is $14 at the convention, and no group registration is available. ABOUT CASTLE POINT ANIME CONVENTION: Castle Point Anime Convention is created and organized by the members of the Stevens Anime Club and will be held on April 11, 2010 on the campus of Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. Castle Point Anime Convention is just minutes away from New York City and is easily accessible by PATH, NJ Transit, ferry, and bus. Castle Point Anime Convention aims to promote anime, manga, and Japanese culture as well as providing a fun experience for attendees.

In the past, comedian Uncle Yo, composer Andy Brick, and musiciansPEELANDER-Z, Nullsleep, and BitShifter have all made an appearance at CPAC. Last year, CPAC welcomed voice actor Bill Rogers and television producer/director Dekker Dreyer as special guests. As well, famous nerdcore hip-hop artist MC Frontalot and 8-bit artists Bit Shifter and Bubblyfish performed for the attendants at the end of the night. The convention drew a crowd of over 1000 people last year from the New Jersey/New York area.
