Biography:
Summer Glau (born in 1981) is an American actress. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and later moved to California.
Summer began her career as a professional ballerina, and found her way to acting after being discovered by Joss Whedon. She made her acting debut portraying a Russian Ballerina in Whedon's TV series Angel. In 2002, she was cast in Whedon's series Firefly, where she was recipient of a Saturn award for her portrayal of young genius River Tam. She reprised the role of River in the 2005 film sequel Serenity.
Summer received a second Saturn Award for her work as terminator Cameron Phillips in the Fox TV series Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008-2009). In Terminator, she again had an opportunity to demonstrate her ballet skills by dancing to Chopin's Nocturne in C# Minor in an episode in Season 1.
Between 2006 and 2011, Summer recurred on many TV series including The 4400, Alphas, Dollhouse, and starred in the NBC series The Cape. She also had roles on movies such as Mammoth and The Initiation of Sarah. Furthermore, she played herself (cameo role) in The Big Bang Theory and Isabel Rochev/Ravager in the CW series Arrow, both of which were fan favorites (in addition to further cameo roles in Chuck and Hawaii Five-O). Moreover, she had important roles in the films Deadly Honeymoon, Knights of Badassdom, Help for the Holidays, and The Legend of Hell's Gate.
Some of Summer's voice work includes Kara in Superman Apocalypse and Wendy in Peter Panzerfaust, as well as the audiobook Ctrl Alt Destroy (in which she voices all characters).
